2025 NGC MS-70 FIRST30™ 1 oz American Gold Buffalo Coin
The American Gold Buffalo was the first 24-karat gold coin produced by the US Mint. Introduced to the numismatic market in 2006, its design honors the nation's heritage.
Created by James Earle Fraser, the coin features a dignified Native American chief on the obverse and a mighty American buffalo on the reverse.
These coins, in particular, are part of SD Bullion’s exclusive MintCertified™ program.
SD Bullion’s MintCertified™ FIRST30™ program is an exclusive partnership with NGC. It guarantees these coins have been delivered in the original unopened, temper-evident sealed mint tubes during the first 30 days of the coin’s release. These MintCertified™ Sealed Tubes were only opened at an NGC depository, and each coin was individually appraised and graded, receiving the FIRST30™ label.
SD Bullion offers 2025 1 oz American Gold Buffalo Coins, certified by NGC as MS-70 FIRST30™ samples.

The Design
The obverse replicates the Indian Head Nickel, first released in 1913 and crafted by James Earle Fraser.
It showcases a right-facing portrait of a Native American, which mixes features from several tribes, including Big Tree, Iron Tail, and Two Moons.
The outer rim bears the inscription "LIBERTY" near the Native American’s forehead, the mintage year, and an "F" representing the artist’s initials in the lower left corner.
The reverse depicts a majestic American Bison standing. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are engraved above the bison, with "IN GOD WE TRUST" placed near its muzzle.
Details about the coin’s weight, metal content, fineness, and face value are beneath the bison reading: "$50," "1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD."
An NGC MS-70 Coin
NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
MS abbreviates for Mint State and refers to coins crafted in the same format as a circulation coin that has never circulated. The highest grade, 70, is awarded to coins that do not present visible flaws.
