2025 NGC MS-70 FIRST30™ 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coin
The US Gold Eagle series offers a diverse collection of gold coins. The US Mint produces Gold Eagles in various sizes and finishes each year, including the 1/4 oz gold bullion coin.
With a face value of $10, the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle is legal tender in the United States. It contains a full quarter ounce of gold, strengthened with copper for added durability. As a hallmark of American coinage, it features the iconic Lady Liberty on the obverse and the majestic Bald Eagle on the reverse.
These coins, in particular, are part of SD Bullion’s exclusive MintCertified™ program.
SD Bullion’s MintCertified™ FIRST30™ program is an exclusive partnership with NGC. It guarantees these coins have been delivered in the original unopened, temper-evident sealed mint tubes during the first 30 days of the coin’s release. These MintCertified™ Sealed Tubes were only opened at an NGC depository, and each coin was individually appraised and graded, receiving the FIRST30™ label.
Today, SD Bullion sells 2025 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins certified by NGC as MS-70 FIRST30™ samples.

The Design
The obverse replicates Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ artistry, which was initially used on the 1907 $20 Double Eagle gold coin. It showcases Liberty walking forward as a sign of progress, the torch representing enlightenment, and the olive branch representing peace.
It also displays the word “LIBERTY,” stars representing national states, the year of issuance, and the US Capitol Building.
The reverse features the Bald Eagle, designed by Jennie Norris, in a close-up in left profile. It has a hooked beak and a staring gaze.
Additional inscriptions read “10 DOLLARS” and “1/4 OZ FINE GOLD,” referring to denomination, weight, and metal content. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” are included.
An NGC MS-70 Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) uses the Sheldon Grading Scale to evaluate and attribute grades to coins.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no sign of wear, tear, or scratching, which grants it a 70 grade.
