The Design

The snake featured in the 2025 reverse design is coiled in a bamboo trunk and displays its corresponding Chinese character and its translation, “SNAKE,” the year of issuance, “2025,” and a discreet “P” mint mark on the left identifying the Perth Mint.

The new obverse design depicts King Charles III’s left profile bust, designed by Dan Thorne. The inscriptions encircling the King’s effigy read “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA” on top, “1 Kilo 9999 Ag”, and “30 DOLLARS” on the bottom rim, referring to the coin’s weight, fineness, metal content, and face value.
