The Design

The new obverse portrays King Charles III in an elegant left-profile bust. His Majesty’s depiction is accompanied by the engravings “CHARLES III,” “1 DOLLAR,” and “2025.”

The Sugar Maple Leaf, designed by Walter Ott, appears on the reverse with the inscriptions “CANADA,” “9999,” “FINE GOLD,” “1/20 OZ,” “OR PUR,” and “9999,” in English and French, referring to the coin’s origin, metal content, purity, and weight.

On the lower right, a smaller maple leaf coin lies, with the year of mintage’s last two digits micro-engraved as a security feature. Both sides feature radial lines as a backdrop and extra security measures. 

RCM Bullion DNA
