2024-W NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue 1 oz Proof American Eagle Silver Coin - Exclusive Reagan Label
The US Mint introduced the American Eagle Bullion Coin Program in 1986, after the signing of the Liberty Coin Act of 1985 and the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985. Not everyone knows that both coinage acts were strongly supported and signed by the 40th US President, Ronald Reagan, who served in the Oval Office from 1981 to 1989.
One of the most popular presidents, Ronald Reagan was also a strong advocate of coin collecting and bullion investing. During his presidency, he issued a Presidential Proclamation declaring the week of April 17, 1983, "National Coin Week."
Today, you can purchase exclusively at SD Bullion the 2024-W 1 oz American Silver Eagle coin, among those available for the public in the US Mint on day #1. They are certified by NGC as PF-70 UC coins and sealed with an NGC Ronald Reagan Facsimile Signature label.

The Design
The American Eagle Program rescued Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design from the 1917 Half-Dollar coin and made it the obverse of the Silver Eagle.
It depicts Lady Liberty, with the American flag draped on her shoulder, walking towards the sun, carrying oak branches, and welcoming new inhabitants with the other stretched arm.
The engravings feature the word “LIBERTY” on top, the year of issuance at the bottom, the “IN GOD WE TRUST” on the lower right, and the “W’ West Point mint mark right beneath it.
The current reverse design corresponds to Emily Damstra’s update to celebrate the Program’s 35th anniversary. It displays a Bald Eagle perched on a branch with open wings.
The engravings encircle the whole image and read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” “FINE SILVER,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
An NGC PF-70 UC First Day of Issue Coin
NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises coins independently from sovereign mints, grading them using the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70 depending on their condition.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from the US Mint on the very first day it was made publicly available.
PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. The expression “UCAM” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins.
Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no sign of wear, tear, or scratching, which grants it a grade 70.
