A bald eagle seems to be perched on the upper branches carrying a banner on its beak engraved with “MESA GRANDE SOVEREIGN NATION.” 

The word “AMERICA” arches over the image, and several stars flank the outer rim. The coin’s face value is expressed on the right through “$1.”

Because it is a proof coin, it is possible to notice a mirror-like luster in the background that contrasts with the matte finish of the design elements.
