2024 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo Coin 

The Perth Mint first released Silver Kangaroos in 2016. Since their debut, these coins have been among the most sought-after silver coins on the market.

Silver Kangaroos showcase a standard design in their yearly strikes. The image is inspired by Stuart Devlin’s Australian Copper Penny, which also features the Red Kangaroo, a native marsupial that became a national symbol.

As previously announced by the Perth Mint, the 2024 issue got an obverse design update to welcome the new monarch, King Charles III, making it a landmark edition to coin collections.

These coins are 999.9 pure silver, holding a face value of AUD $1. They are now available for purchase online from SD Bullion.

The Silver Kangaroo Design

Annual editions of Silver Kangaroo Bullion coins repeat their pattern design.

The reverse design displays a hopping Kangaroo inside a peaked circle.

The series moniker “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” is engraved on the upper rim, and the coin’s information regarding year of issuance, weight, metal content, fineness, and year of issuance are beneath it, described as “2024 1 OZ 9999 SILVER.” The discreet “P” on the right is the Perth Mint mintmark.

King Charles III’s left-profile bust is the image featured on the obverse design. Besides His Majesty’s portrait, the inscriptions read “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA,” and “1 DOLLAR”.

Anti-counterfeiting Micro-laser engraved letter 

The Perth Mint included an extra authentication feature to avoid counterfeiting, in the form of a micro-engraved laser letter, only detectable under a magnifying glass.
