The Design

Silver Kangaroo coins feature a repeating pattern design.

The reverse design displays a hopping Kangaroo inside a peaked circle. 

Additional engravings are settled in the outer rim. They refer to the series moniker “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO,” the coin’s year of issuance, weight, metal content, fineness, and year of issuance, described as “2026 1 OZ 9999 SILVER.” 

The discreet “P” on the right is the Perth Mint mintmark.

The obverse, designed by Dan Thorne, features King Charles III’s left-profile bust encircled by the inscriptions “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA,” and “1 DOLLAR”.

Anti-counterfeiting Micro-laser engraved letter 

The Perth Mint included an extra authentication feature to avoid counterfeiting, in the form of a micro-engraved laser letter, only detectable under a magnifying glass.
