2023 NGC MS-70 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin - Thomas J. Uram Label
The Gold Eagle, the official gold bullion coin of the United States, is highly coveted by collectors and investors.
Made by the US Mint from 22k gold, the Half-ounce Gold Eagle is the largest fractional denomination, carrying a $25 face value. The coin features exquisite designs by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Jennie Norris, showcasing Lady Liberty and the bald eagle.
These specific 1/2 oz Gold Eagles have been graded as MS-70 by NGC and are encased with Thomas J. Uram's Special Label.
Uram, the former Chairman of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC), played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. numismatics. He advised the Secretary of the Treasury on the design of coins and medals and was instrumental in the passage of the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act (H.R. 6192). This act authorized the minting of new Morgan and Peace Dollars in 2021 to mark the 100th anniversary of their original circulation and permits the Mint to continue producing these coins annually.
