The Design
The obverse features the Canadian Head of State’s effigy, created by Susan Blunt. Queen Elizabeth II appears in a right profile bust, accompanied by Her name on top and the coin’s denomination and issuance through “5 DOLLARS 2022” at the bottom.
The reverse design displays Walter Ott’s depiction of the Maple Leaf. “CANADA” is engraved over the national seal, while the coin’s weight, metal content, and fineness are described in English and French. They read: “9999 FINE GOLD 1/10 OZ OR PUR 9999.”
