2021 NGC MS-70 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coin (Type 2)

The year 2021 is a significant milestone in American coinage. It marks 35 years since the first release of Silver and Gold Eagle bullion coins in the numismatic market through the American Eagle Program.

To commemorate this, the US Mint introduced a new reverse design for the Gold Eagles, created by artist Jennie Norris. From that strike, all 22k US Gold Eagles were imprinted with a new Bald Eagle design.

You can find 2021 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins (Type 2), sealed in NGC slabs and graded as MS-70 coins at SD Bullion.

The Design

The new reverse design displays the Eagle with a frontal close-up and a penetrating gaze. 

The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "IN GOD WE TRUST," along with the coin’s face value of 50 DOLLARS, weight, and metal content as "1 OZ. FINE GOLD" are included.
