2020-W PCGS PR-69 1 oz American Gold Eagle Proof Coin - V75 Privy Mark
The US Gold Eagles were first released in 1986 as the premier gold bullion coin of the American Eagle Program.
This coin contains a full troy oz of gold and showcases Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ iconic Lady Liberty design, originally imprinted on the $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins.
Proof Gold Eagles have the same design but an enhanced aesthetic thanks to the proof finish.
Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the End of World War II in 2020, the US Mint prepared a commemorative strike of Proof Gold Eagles with the V75 privy mark. This limited mintage included only 1,945 coins, a nod to the year the war ended. Because they were issued at the West Point Mint, these coins also feature the “W” mint mark.
SD Bullion offers 2020-W 1 oz American Gold Eagle Proof coins imprinted with the V75 Privy Mark, graded as PR-69 by PCGS.

It is also engraved with the Capitol Building, the word “LIBERTY,” the coin’s mintage year, and the “W” mint mark.
The V75 privy mark on the right is shaped like the Rainbow Pool at West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C.
The reverse displays a female Eagle cherishing its hatchling under her wing while the male Eagle perches on their nest.
Further inscriptions refer to “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” with weight, metal content, and face value engraved at the bottom rim.
A PCGS PR-69 Coin
The Sheldon Grading Scale ranges from 1 to 70 and is used as a parameter for third-party services, like PCGS, which stands for Professional Coin Grading Service, to appraise and grade coins.
According to the scale, PR stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
