Inspired by the ten stone beasts that stood guard at Queen Elizabeth II's coronation ceremony in 1953, the Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts Coin program has quickly become one of the most popular coin series from the Royal Mint. This 2019 1 oz Queen's Beasts Unicorn of Scotland Platinum Coin is the 4th issue of the platinum variant of the Queen's Beasts coins.

The obverses feature the fifth iteration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's portrait. Her right profile is depicted at the age of 89, complete with the Royal Diadem crown perched atop her head.

On the other hand, the reverses display the mythical beast being commemorated with this release -- the majestic Unicorn of Scotland. It is depicted exactly as it is often featured on crests, standing on its hind legs while its front hooves rest on the Royal Coat of Scotland.
