The Design
On the obverse, John Flanagan depicts George Washington's effigy, created in 1932. The depiction follows the 1786 former President’s official portrayal designed by William Cousins.
Further inscriptions read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
The reverse depicts a wild turkey flying over blue-stem grass with long-leaf pine in the background. Inscriptions on this side read “KISATCHIE,” “LOUISIANA,” “2015,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
