2015 NGC MS-69 PL Early Releases 5 oz America The Beautiful Homestead Silver Coin

The US Mint introduced the America The Beautiful Quarter Program to honor the nation’s natural treasures and rich history.

The first release dates back to 2010, but the program crafted 56 alluring silver coins until 2021.

The Homestead Silver Coin was the first strike of the 2015 edition and the 26th overall in the series.

Founded in 1936, the Homestead National Monument of America retells the epic story of early pioneers and highlights the significant impact of the Homestead Act of 1862, which provided free land, enabling nearly any man or woman to pursue the American dream of land ownership. The Heritage Center, with its distinctive design, was dedicated in 2007 and offers a hilltop view of the tallgrass prairie, reminiscent of the landscape seen by American pioneers.

At SD Bullion, you can acquire the 2015  5 oz America The Beautiful Homestead Silver Coin in a proof-like appearance. It was purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of its official release and graded by NGC as MS-69 PL Early Releases coins.

It also contains the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”

The reverse symbolizes the fundamental survival needs of all homesteaders: food, shelter, and water. Inscriptions on this side read “HOMESTEAD,” “NEBRASKA,” “2015,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

An NGC MS-69 PL “Early Releases” Coin

NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 based on their condition.

For NGC, “Early Releases” refer to coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of their official release and taken to its appraisal.

MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins that have never circulated. 69 is the grade attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.

PL refers to a Proof-like finish, describing coins that exhibit mirrored fields that resemble Proof coins but are actually bullion coins.
