The Design
The obverse showcases the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the British Commonwealth Community head of state, designed by Susana Blunt. The inscriptions encircling Her Majesty’s bust read: “ELIZABETH II” on the upper rim and “5 DOLLARS,” “2013” at the bottom.
The reverse displays the iconic maple leaf, a national symbol. Along with the country’s name, “CANADA,” on the upper rim, the coin’s information is in English and French, the official languages. They read: “9999,” “FINE SILVER,” “1 OZ,” “ARGENT PUR,” and “9999.”
The Snake Privy mark is on the lower left.
