2012-W 1 oz American Silver Eagle Burnished Coin with Box and COA
The American Silver Eagle, the official silver coin of the United States, entered the bullion market in 1986, representing a key achievement in the American Eagles program.
Composed of 1 Troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver, Silver Eagles are legal tender and symbolize the Founding Fathers' core principles with the designs of the Heraldic Eagle and Lady Liberty.
These US Silver Eagles, in particular, are Burnished versions minted at the West Point branch and bear the “W” mint mark. The blanks used in their making underwent a special treatment process called burnishing, which cleans them from undesired oxides, resulting in a matte finish with more vivid design details.
At SD Bullion, you can acquire 2012-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles housed in an original mint box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Design
The obverse reproduces Lady Liberty folded in the American flag as she strides toward the sun with an outstretched arm and oak branches in the other.
The word “LIBERTY” is engraved at the top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” is on the lower right, the “W” West Point mint mark is beneath it, and the year of issuance is at the bottom rim.
The reverse displays the Heraldic Eagle beneath 13 stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The Eagle carries the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak.
Face value, weight, metal content, and purity are inscribed as "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
Burnished Coins
A Burnished American Eagle Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
