2011-W 1 oz American Silver Eagle Burnished Coin with Box and COA
In 2011, the US Mint celebrated the 25th anniversary of the American Eagles Program. This important landmark is certainly one of the main appeals of the 2011 mintage.
Crafted from 99.9% fine silver, the American Silver Eagle's purity and weight of 1 Troy oz are certified by the U.S. government.
These US Silver Eagles, in particular, are Burnished coins minted at the West Point branch and bear the “W” mint mark. The blanks used in their making underwent a special treatment process called burnishing, which cleans them from undesired oxides, resulting in a matte finish with more vivid design details.
At SD Bullion, you can purchase 2011-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles housed in an original mint box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Design

The image contains the word “LIBERTY” engraved at the top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” on the lower right, the “W” West Point mint mark beneath it, and the year of issuance at the bottom rim.
The reverse features the Heraldic Eagle beneath 13 stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The Eagle carries the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak.
The inscribed information regarding face value, weight, metal content, and purity is "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
Burnished Coins
A Burnished American Eagle Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
