2010 PCGS MS-69 DMPL First Strikes 5 oz America The Beautiful Hot Springs Silver Coin - John Mercanti Label
In 2010, the America The Beautiful series was launched. It features five silver coins, each weighing 5 Troy ounces, celebrating the United States' natural beauty and historical heritage.
The fifth coin released that year, and in the series, was the Mount Hood Silver Coin.
Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon was designated a national site in 1893. The forest spans over 60 miles from the Columbia River Gorge to the Olallie Scenic Area and features notable landmarks such as the Timberline Lodge, a national historic landmark, and the Clackamas Wild and Scenic River.
SD Bullion sells the 2010 5 oz America The Beautiful Mount Hood Silver Coin, which was purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of its official release. It is graded as MS-69 DMPL coins and sealed in PCGS slabs.

A PCGS MS-69 DMPL “First Strikes” Coin
Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) works independently of sovereign mints. It evaluates and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which rates coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
PCGS calls “First Strikes” the coins purchased from the original mint within the first 30 days of the official release and submitted to its appraisal.
MS stands for Mint State. Mint State coins are shaped as business coins. Grade 69 is attributed to coins whose flaws are almost invisible.
According to PCGS, DMPL stands for Deep Mirror Proof-Like and refers to coins struck for circulation but with unusual mirror-like fields and frosted design details that are very similar to Proof coins.
