2010 PCGS MS-69 5 oz America The Beautiful Grand Canyon Silver Coin - John Mercanti Label
The America The Beautiful Quarter Program aims to feature America's most iconic locations, which have been preserved as national sites due to their significant natural or historical value.
Between 2010 and 2021, the program issued five silver coins each year, weighing 5 Troy ounces with a face value of USD 0.25
The fourth coin released in 2010, and the fourth in the entire series was the Grand Canyon Silver Coin. The Grand Canyon in Arizona, established as a national site in 1893, stretches 277 river miles, reaches up to 18 miles wide, and drops a mile deep, providing stunning vistas.
John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, created numerous designs for US circulating, commemorative, and bullion coins, including the original reverse of the Silver Eagles. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the most influential figures in numismatics.
