2009 NGC MS-70 Early Releases 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coin
The US Mint introduced Silver and Gold Eagles in 1986 as the American Eagle Progam debuting coins.
Gold Eagles are 22-karat gold coins weighing 1 Troy oz of actual gold content, legal tender status, and patriotic designs signed by Augustus Saint-Gaundens and Miley Busiek.
Today, SD Bullion offers 2009 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins, taken from those publicly available for purchase in the first 30 days of issue in the US Mint. They are sealed by NGC and certified as perfect MS-70 samples.

The Design
The obverse design displays Lady Liberty marching forward, carrying a torch and an olive branch. The march symbolizes the nation's evolution to progress, peace, and enlightenment. The word “LIBERTY” is engraved on the upper rim. The Capitol Building is on the lower left, and the coin’s mintage year is on the right.
It reproduces the 20-dollar Double Eagle Coin design created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
The reverse image designed by Miley Busiek features a family of Bald Eagles, with a female eagle cherishing its hatchling under her wing while the male one perches their nest.
The words inscribed on this side are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1 OZ. FINE GOLD—50 DOLLARS,” referring to weight, metal content, and face value.
An NGC MS-70 Early Releases Coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company appraises and grades coins independently from sovereign mints. It uses the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
According to the NGC, an “Early Release” coin corresponds to one purchased from the US Mint during the first 30 of public availability.
MS abbreviates for Mint State and refers to coins crafted in the same format as a circulation coin that has never circulated, though. 70 is the highest grade, awarded to coins that do not present visible flaws.
