The Design

The obverse side is inspired by Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ 1907 20-dollar Double Eagle Coin. 

It depicts Lady Liberty striding forward, holding a torch and an olive branch, symbolizing the nation's journey toward progress, peace, and enlightenment. The design is completed with the word "LIBERTY," the Capitol Building, and the coin’s mintage year.

On the reverse, Miley Busiek designed a scene featuring a family of Bald Eagles: a female eagle nurturing her hatchling under her wing while the male stands guard on their nest. 

This side also includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” as well as the coin’s specifications of weight, metal content, and face value, which reads “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD—10 DOLLARS.”

NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) works independently from sovereign mints, appraising and grading coins based on their condition, using the Sheldon Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
