The US Mint produced the Liberty Quarter Eagle Coin as the official circulating quarter coin with 0.12094 troy ounces of gold content from 1840 to 1907. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, this was the longest unchanged design in the history of American gold coinage.

The reverse showcases the Heraldic Eagle, with outstretched wings, the national shield on its chest, arrows, and an olive branch on its talons.

The inscriptions on this side are limited to the nation’s name and the coin’s face value.
