These US Mint 1990-S American Silver Eagle Proof coins, shipped in beautiful NGC plastic slabs, were minted at the beginning of a new decade (1990) and are a requisite addition for every coin collector. Bearing a Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) grade of PF-70 Ultra Cameo, these coins are as perfect as coins can be. NGC is the world’s largest third-party coin certification service by volume and is also a member of the Certified Collectibles Group (CGC). Each of these 1990-S American Silver Eagle Proof coins is struck using 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Additionally, the United States Government guarantees a $1 (USD) face value on every one of these coins as well.


The San Francisco Mint is one of the currently active coin producing mints of the United States Mint, with the other three being Philadelphia, Denver and West Point. In fact, the San Francisco facility was one of the few buildings to survive the great earthquake and fire of 1906, making it a famous mint with a rich history.


The obverse of this proof coin contains one of the most beloved designs of any United States coinage, the Walking Liberty, along with the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issue “1990.” On the other hand, reverses of these proof coins portray a heraldic eagle behind a shield – the eagle is grasping an olive branch and arrows in its talons. This design by John Mercanti was inspired by the National Seal of the United States of America.
