The $20 St. Gaudens Double Eagle is widely celebrated as one of the most beautiful coins ever issued by the U.S. Mint. 

Produced for circulation between 1907 and 1933, it served as the nation’s official $20 gold piece. Samples struck in Denver feature the “D” mintmark. 

Each coin holds .9675 troy ounces of gold and displays the iconic design that was later revived for the U.S. Gold Eagle series within the American Eagle Program.

On the reverse, a bald eagle soars toward the sun, accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY DOLLARS."
