The $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin embodies the United States' economic power and cultural heritage. Produced from 1849 to 1907 for widespread use, it contains 0.9675 Troy ounces of gold. 

Designed by James B. Longacre, the fourth Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, the coin reflects the Founding Fathers' principles of liberty and strength through its imagery of Lady Liberty and the Heraldic Eagle.

The Design

The obverse depicts Lady Liberty adorned with a tiara inscribed "LIBERTY." Her effigy is accompanied by thirteen six-pointed stars representing the original Thirteen Colonies and the year of issuance.

The Heraldic Eagle reverse portrayal showcases the Eagle with spread wings clutching arrows in its talons. The national shield is on its chest, and the banner "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is in its beak. 

The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the coin's face value of "TWENTY DOLLARS" complete the image.
