PCGS MS-62 $2.50 Indian Quarter Eagle Gold Coin - Random Year
From 1908 to 1929, the Indian Head Eagles were the official circulating quarter coin in the US as a substitute for the Liberty Quarter Eagle Gold Coin.
The US Mint crafted Indian Quarter Eagles containing .12094 oz of gold bullion, legal tender status and an alluring illustration of a Native Chief designed by Sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt, an Augustus Saint-Gaudens student.
At SD Bullion, you can find $2.50 Indian Quarter Eagle coins of varied mintage years, sealed and graded by PCGS as MS-62 coins.

The Design
The obverse portrays a left-profile bust of a Native American Chief wearing a full headdress, accompanied by the word “LIBERTY,” the year of issuance, and thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Original Colonies.
The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle perched on an arrow wrapped around an olive branch. These two symbols combined represent America’s desire for peace, but an enduring military awareness.
It also contains the engravings “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” and the coin’s face value of “2 ½ DOLLARS.”
A PCGS MS-62 Coin
PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service uses the Sheldon Grading Scale as a parameter to appraise and grade coins from 1 to 70, according to their condition.
MS or Mint State designates a coin in the format of a business circulation coin. Grade 62 suggests that the coin may present marks and hairlines in focal areas but with an acceptable overall appearance.
