The United States Mint issued Weinman’s Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. However, due to its popularity, the Walking Liberty was chosen to be the obverse of the American Silver Eagle coins in 1986 and that hasn’t changed since.

The Design
As a usual minted bar, it has a rectangular shape with rounded edges and design decoration on both sides.
The bar’s moniker comes from its obverse impression, which features the famous Walking Liberty, encircled on top with essential hallmarks beneath it.
The image is a creation of Adolph A. Weinman and was first stamped at the Half Dollar coin in 1916 and rescued in 1986 to be on the American Silver Eagle coins.
The following inscriptions refer to the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity, overlapping a huge number “1.” They read: “One Troy Ounce,” “FINE SILVER,” and “999+”. And on the bottom, “Made in USA.”
