2026 NGC MS-70 FIRST30™ 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin
The US Mint issues American Gold Eagles in a range of sizes and finishes, creating one of the most extensive selections of official U.S. gold coinage.
The 1/2 oz coin is the largest of the fractional denominations. It is minted in 22-karat gold and contains a full half-troy oz of pure gold, with a small alloy of silver (3%) and copper (5.33%) added to enhance strength and longevity.
These coins, in particular, are part of SD Bullion’s exclusive MintCertified™ program.
SD Bullion’s MintCertified™ FIRST30™ program is a unique collaboration with NGC that ensures these coins were shipped directly from the mint in their original, unopened, tamper-evident sealed tubes within the first 30 days after release. The sealed tubes were opened exclusively at an NGC depository, where each coin was individually evaluated and graded, earning the FIRST30™ designation.
At SD Bullion, you can acquire 2026 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins, which NGC certifies as MS-70 FIRST30™ samples.

The Design
The obverse depicts Lady Liberty walking forward, illuminated by the sun's rays in the background. With the US Capitol on her feet, she is heading to the future. She holds a torch and an olive branch, symbolizing light and peace.
The word “LIBERTY” and the year of issuance are also part of the design.
On the reverse, a left-profile close-up of a Bald Eagle with a hooked beak and deep gaze enhances the whole surface.
Accompanying inscriptions refer to the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” engraved beneath “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. " The inscriptions read “25 DOLLARS” for the denomination and “½ OZ FINE GOLD” for the weight and metal content.
An NGC MS-70 Coin
NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) evaluates and grades coins independently of sovereign mints. It utilizes the Sheldon Scale, a grading system from 1 to 70.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin crafted in the format of a business circulation coin. Since it has never been in circulation, the coin has no flaws, which grants it a 70 grade.
