2025-W PCGS PR-70 First Day of Issue US Army Privy 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin - Army Label
To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Army on June 14, 2025, the U.S. Mint has released a special edition of the American Silver Eagle featuring an exclusive privy mark.
Established in 1775, the U.S. Army is the oldest and most prominent branch of the nation's armed forces. For two and a half centuries, it has stood at the forefront of defending American values, demonstrating unwavering dedication, courage, and service at home and worldwide.
These US Silver Eagles, in particular, are proof coins produced in the West Point branch. Therefore, they showcase the “W” mint mark and a stunning mirror-like luster. They were also purchased before their official release and submitted to PCGS for appraisal.
SD Bullion offers the 2025-W 250th Anniversary of the US Army 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin, graded by PCGS as a PR-70 First Day of Issue coin.

The reverse reflects a contemporary image of a Bald Eagle in mid-flight, clutching an oak branch in its talons. Surrounding the design are the words 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,' 'ONE DOLLAR,' '1 OZ. FINE SILVER,' and the motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM.'"
It is also inscribed with the “W” mint mark from the West Point branch.
A PCGS PR-70 “First Day of Issue” Coin
PCGS—Professional Coin Grading Service appraises and grades coins using the Sheldon Grading Scale, which ranges from 1 to 70.
PCGS considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from its original mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to PCGS appraisal.
PR stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes that exhibits mirror-like surfaces contrasting with frosted design elements. 70 is the highest grade on the scale attributed to flawless coins.
