2025-W NGC PF-70 Ultra Cameo First Day of Issue 1 oz American Gold Eagle Proof Coin - Exclusive Ronald Reagan Label
American Gold Eagles are produced in bullion and proof versions. Proof coins are featured with the same size options. However, they showcase an enhanced design due to their mirror-like luster.
This Proof Gold Eagle is a 22-karat gold coin containing a full Troy oz of actual gold. It bears the “W” mint mark from the West Point branch and is sealed with the Ronald Reagan Label by NGC.
Ronald Reagan served as the 40th US President from 1981 to 1989 and fiercely advocated for coin collecting and bullion investing. He signed the Liberty Coin Act of 1985 and the Bullion Coin Act of 1985, which grounded the production of American Eagle Coins. He also issued a Presidential Proclamation in 1983, establishing the week of April 17 as the "National Coin Week."
Today, SD Bullion offers the 2025-W 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle purchased from the US Mint on its first release day. They were certified as PF-70 samples and sealed by the NGC with an Exclusive Ronald Reagan Facsimile Signature label, with his portrait overlaying the Oval Office.

The Design
The obverse features the design Augustus Saint-Gaudens originally created for the $20 Double Eagle Coin in 1907.
It depicts Lady Liberty striding forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing enlightenment, progress, and peace. The design is complemented by the word “LIBERTY,” a circle of stars representing the nation’s states, the year of issuance, the U.S. Capitol Building, and the “W” mint mark.
Jennie Norris created the current reverse design for the 35th Anniversary of the American Eagle Program. The majestic eagle is depicted in a left-profile close-up with a hooked beak and a staring gaze.
The coin’s face value, weight, and metal content are engraved as “50 DOLLARS,” “1 OZ FINE GOLD.” The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” are also present.
An NGC PF-70 Ultra Cameo First Day of Issue Coin
NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company is a third-party grading service that uses the Sheldon Scale as a parameter to appraise and grade coins.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from its original mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.
PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. The expression “UCAM” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins.
Grade 70 is attributed to coins that present no visible marks.
