2025-W NGC PF-70 First Day of Issue US Army Privy 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army on June 14, 2025, the U.S. Mint unveiled a special edition Silver Eagle featuring a distinctive privy mark.
Since its founding in 1775, the United States Army has served as the backbone of the nation’s defense, standing as the oldest and most expansive branch of the U.S. military. Its enduring mission to safeguard liberty and ensure national security has shaped American history and reinforced its role as a global force for peace and stability.
These US Silver Eagles, in particular, are proof coins produced in the West Point branch. Therefore, they showcase the “W” mint mark and a stunning mirror-like luster. They were also purchased on the first day of their official release and submitted to an NGC appraisal.
SD Bullion offers the 2025-W 250th US Army Anniversary Privy 1 oz American Silver Eagle Proof Coin, graded by NGC as a PF-70 First Day of Issue coin.

Accompanying inscriptions read 'LIBERTY,' 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' the coin’s year of issue, and the commemorative privy mark.
The reverse reflects a contemporary image of a Bald Eagle in mid-flight, clutching an oak branch in its talons. Surrounding the design are the words 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,' 'ONE DOLLAR,' '1 OZ. FINE SILVER,' and the motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM.'"
It is also engraved with the “W” mint mark from the West Point branch.
An NGC PF-70 First Day of Issue Coin
NGC - Numismatic Guaranty Company works independently from sovereign mints to certify coins using the Sheldon Scale. The scale ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
NGC considers “First Day of Issue” a coin purchased from the US Mint on the first day of its official release and submitted to its appraisal.
PF stands for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes, which exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements.
