The 2025 Silver Eagle Design
The obverse design highlights Adolph Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty, initially introduced in 1917 and reintroduced for the American Silver Eagles in 1986. Lady Liberty strides confidently with the rising sun at her back, the American flag draped around her, and an olive branch in her left hand. “LIBERTY” is inscribed along the top rim, “IN GOD WE TRUST” appears on the side, and the designer’s initials are at the bottom.
The reverse, crafted by Emily Damstra, features a bald eagle mid-flight with an oak branch in its talons. This design commemorates the Silver Eagle’s 35th anniversary, symbolizing strength and freedom.
The inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
