The Design

The bear stands watch over engraved floral emblems presented in Ultra High Relief. These three botanical symbols reflect the region's natural heritage: the white pine, Ontario's official tree; the trillium, the province's floral emblem; and the maple leaf, the enduring symbol of Canada. 

The obverse bears the official effigy of King Charles III, accompanied by the inscriptions "CHARLES III" and "D.G. REX," an abbreviation of the Latin phrase Dei Gratia Rex, meaning "By the Grace of God, King."

A finely engraved woodgrain texture extends across both the obverse and reverse, adding visual depth while symbolizing Canada's rich natural landscapes, tying the design elements together with the forests and wildlife that have long inspired the nation's iconic emblems.
