The Design

On the obverse, Lady Liberty, the nation's feminine symbol, is enveloped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun with an outstretched arm and oak branches in the other.

The image also features the word “LIBERTY” inscribed at the top, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” on the lower right, with the “W” West Point mint mark beneath it, and “2024” at the bottom rim. 

On the reverse, the Bald Eagle is perched on a branch. The inscriptions detailing the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”

Burnished Coins

A Burnished American Eagle Coin results from a “burnishing” process, hence the name. It essentially means that the blanks are cleaned from all oxides formed during the annealing and rimming process. This way, burnished coins get a satin look and a smooth surface but less reflective luster than the Proof version.
