The Maple Leaf Design

The official effigy of the new British monarch, King Charles III, stamps the obverse design along with the coin’s face value and year of issuance. The inscriptions read: “CHARLES III,” “50 CENTS,” and “2024.”

The reverse displays Walter Ott’s Sugar Maple Leaf design. The engravings on the border, in English and French, carry information regarding the coin’s origin, metal content, fineness, and weight through “CANADA,” “9999,” “FINE GOLD,” “1g,” and “OR PUR.”

A small maple leaf lies on the lower right with the last two digits of the mintage year “24” micro-engraved, and radial lines cover the background surface on both sides, adding to the coin’s security features.
