The Design

The obverse features King Charles III’s effigy, designed by Martin Jennings. It is encircled by the engravings “CHARLES III’ D’G’REX’F’D” and “100’POUNDS,” referring to the Latin initials "King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith" and the coin’s face value.

The reverse, which depicts the legendary battle, was created by Jody Clark and inspired by the reproduction of Benedetto Pistrucci’s illustration traditionally stamped on The Sovereign Collection.

The imagery is surrounded by a repeated pattern describing the year of issuance, weight, metal content, and fineness, which read: “2024 1OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD.”
