The Design

Since the 2023 edition, the obverse design has displayed the Public Seal of Niue, a self-governed country associated with New Zealand that guarantees the coin’s legal tender.

Besides the seal, the inscriptions refer to the coin's face value of “TWO DOLLARS” and the year of mintage.

The reverse design features the crowned Roaring Lion, identified as the Lion of Judah by the Aleph Tav Symbol את on the crown: The strength of the Leader is the Sign of the Covenant. 

Something that may go unnoticed by some is the hidden “truth” featured on every coin. This feature is a staple for every coin in the Truth series, and adds value for many customers. For the new 2024 1 oz Silver Roaring Lion coin, a message that reads “Stand Firm Then” has been micro-engraved onto the front of the crown on the Lion's head. When put together with the other three designs of the 2024 Truth series, they create the Bible verse Ephesians 6:14.

A reflective regal floral-like pattern is the background image.
