2024 1 oz Bond of the 60s Gold Coin - Six Decades of 007
The Royal Mint celebrates the successful six decades of 007 films by dedicating an exclusive coin collection to the franchise.
The Six Decades of 007 bullion coin series premieres in 2024 with silver and gold coins of varied sizes and finishes in limited strikes.
The sequence of 007 movies is based on Ian Fleming’s novels, which date back to 1953. The EON Productions purchased the filming rights in 1961 to deliver the first James Bond Movie, “Dr. No.”
However, the debut coin of the series is themed around the movie “You Only Live Twice,” released in 1967.

The Design
The obverse showcases Martin Jenning’s official portrait of King Charles III. It consists of a left-profile bust surrounded by “CHARLES III. D.G.REX.F.G.100 POUNDS”, which stands for the king’s name, the coin’s face value, and the Latin initials of “By the Grace of God, King.”
The reverse features an iconic scene in which James Bond flies Little Nellie in “You Only Live Twice.”
The list of 007 movies is used as a backdrop image, encircled by the classic spiral opening from the films. The franchise’s logo is beneath the image.
The coin’s information regarding issuance, the series name, metal content, weight, and fineness is repeatedly engraved in small letters on the outer rim. It reads: “2024. BOND OF THE 60s. FINE GOLD. 1 oz. 999.9.”
