2024 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin

Made in several precious metals and sizes, Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins may be an exciting collectible.

These gold coins are available in 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz, all made of 999.9 pure gold bullion.

Such high purity levels, added to the modern anticounterfeiting techniques from the Royal Canadian Mint, make them a sensible investment option.

No matter which size, Gold Maple Leaf Coins are pure gold pieces with an elegant design and legal tender status fully guaranteed by the Canadian federal Government.

Coin Highlights

  • Contains ¼ oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition;
  • Bears a CAD 10 denomination and legal tender status, backed by Canada;
  • Exclusive authentication system - the RCM Bullion DNA;
  • The obverse depicts King Charles III;
  • The reverse features the maple leaf.

The Design

The series motif is the sugar maple leaf, a Canadian national symbol. The reverse design has a centralized maple leaf flanked by “9999,” “FINE GOLD,” “1/4 OZ,” and “OR PUR,” which corresponds to the coin’s metal content, purity, and weight in French and English, and “CANADA,” on top.

The new obverse design brings the official portrait of King Charles III debuting in the series. His Majesty’s portrait is a left-profile bust, and the inscriptions surrounding it consist of “CHARLES III,” “10 DOLLARS,” and “2024.”

Both background surfaces are incused with radial lines. And a small maple leaf lies on the lower right of the reverse design, beneath the main one, with the year of mintage’s last two digits micro-engraved as a security feature.

Mintage

Gold Maple Leaf Coins debuted in 1979 in the market through its 1 oz gold coin. Fractional sizes of ½ oz, ¼ oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz came to the collection in further issuances, broadening investors' and collectors' purchase options.

Following the series patterns, the 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf is made of 99.99% pure gold and has legal tender status and a face value of CAD 10, fully guaranteed by the Canadian Government.

RCM Bullion DNA

The Bullion DNA is a Royal Canadian Mint exclusive anticounterfeiting technology. DNA stands for Digital Non-Destructive Activation, meaning each coin receives an encrypted string of codes during registration. The registered codes remain stored on the RCM’s database and are only readable through a specialized scanner.
