The Design

The reverse displays the Tree of Life, a huge leafy tree with deep roots and a strong trunk. Under the image is the Hebrew symbol of Yahweh, which means God. On this side, the information related to the coin refers to weight, metal content, and purity. They read “FIVE TROY OUNCES .9999 FINE SILVER.”

Something that may go unnoticed by some is the hidden “truth” featured on every coin. This feature is a staple for every coin in the Truth series, and adds value for many customers. For the new 2023 5 oz Silver Tree of Life coin, a message that reads “and His worshipers must” has been micro-engraved onto the lower left branch of the tree. When put together with the other three designs of the 2023 Truth series, they create the Bible verse John 4:24.

For the first time on this 5 oz release, the obverse displays the Niue Coat of Arms. The denomination of “TEN DOLLARS” is spread across the top of the design, while the year “2023” holds its place at the bottom.

These coins have a high relief finish, which means that the design received an additional treatment to raise some elements, making them more elevated than the surface. This relief causes a 3-D effect; hence details get more visible.

NGC MS-70 Grade

The NGC, Numismatic Guaranty Company, is a well-respected service with an international reputation that evaluates and grades coins using the Sheldon grading scale. Based on the coin's condition, the scale goes from 1 to 70.

“MS” stands for “mint state.” It refers to a business strike coin that has received a grade above 60 or, in other words, shows little traces of post-production marks. According to NGC the MS-70 grade is only given to, "A coin with no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification."
