The Design

Molon Labe is a traditional Greek expression attributed to Spartan King Leonidas, which means “come and take it” in response to the Persian armies' demands to surrender their weapons.

The obverse design represents this call to courage by depicting a Spartan Soldier in focus, prepared for the battle, and in the background, the resistant Spartan Army led by King Leonidas.

The only engraving on this side is the mentioned expression, written in characteristic Greek letters.

The reverse stamps Intaglio Mint’s logo encircled by the round’s essential description regarding weight, metal content, purity, and year of mintage.
