The Quokka is a native marsupial usually found in the southwest region of Western Australia. It is the size of a domestic pet, is highly sociable, and has a cute smile.

The Australian Quokka Series' one-ounce silver coins feature a unique depiction of this lovely animal at each strike.

Coin Highlights

The Design

The obverse features Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, which, in addition to Her Majesty’s bust, includes the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “2022” “1 DOLLAR,” and “1 oz 9999 Ag,” describing the coin’s legal tender, year of issuance, face value, weight, purity, and metal content.

On the reverse, two quokkas lie at a waterhole with nearby Rottnest Island daisies. It also displays the inscription ‘QUOKKA’ and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
