2021-W NGC PF-70 UCAM American Gold Eagle Type 1 4-Proof Coin Set - Edmond C. Moy Label
2021 marks the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Program, and the US Mint celebrates this landmark with a stunning American Gold Eagle Proof Coins coin set.
The US Mint’s first release of Gold Eagles occurred in the American Eagle Program premiere. The debuting coin was a one-ounce gold piece in bullion, but the US Mint broadened the series and included fractional sizes and proof versions.
The coin set comprises four 22k Proof Gold Eagles: a 1 oz, a 1/2 oz, a 1/4 oz, and a 1/10 oz coin. They were struck in the West Point Mint and carry the “W” mint mark.
In addition, these Proof Gold Eagles correspond to the last strike of the original reverse design showcasing Miley Busiek’s family of Bald Eagles. They were submitted to NGC appraisal and sealed with Edmond C. Moy Label.
Edmund C. Moy served as the 38th Director of the US Mint from 2006 to 2011, earning recognition as the Father of the Modern Coin Era for his transformative impact on US Mint coinage. Under his visionary leadership, Moy introduced innovative designs and oversaw the creation of iconic series such as the 24k Gold Buffalo and the revered 2009 Ultra High Relief coin. Additionally, his initiatives resulted in unprecedented minting of gold and silver coins, sparking widespread global interest in modern U.S. Coins.
SD Bullion offers 2021-W American Gold Eagle Type 1 4-Proof Coin Sets, certified PF-70 UCAM coins sealed in NGC slabs with the Edmond C. Moy Label.

The Design
The obverse showcases Lady Liberty, the feminine personification of America, walking forward, carrying a torch and an olive branch, symbolizing the nation's march towards progress, peace, and enlightenment.
The Capitol Building is imprinted on the lower left, the word “LIBERTY” on top, the coin’s mintage year to the right, and the “W” mint mark below the date. Stars encircle the whole design.
The reverse displays a female Eagle cherishing its hatchling under her wing while the male Eagle perches their nest.
The inscriptions that complete the reverse image are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” on top, the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” weight, metal content, and face value engraved at the bottom rim.
An NGC PF-70 UCAM Coin
Third-party services like NGC—Numismatic Guaranty Company use the Sheldon Scale as a parameter to appraise and grade coins.
The initials PF stand for Proof Coin, indicating a coin produced for collection purposes. It exhibits mirror-like surfaces in contrast with frosted design elements. The expression “UCAM” or Ultra Cameo means this contrast is deeper and more intense than in other proof coins.
Grade 70 is the highest and is attributed to coins with no visible marks.
