2021 (S) American Silver Eagle Roll - MintCertified™ Bridge Label (Type 2)

The San Francisco Mint produces a select number of Silver American Eagles each year compared to the multi millions produced at the United States’s West Point Mint. Although limited, SD Bullion is excited to now offer the MintCertified™ tube of 2021 Silver American Eagles (Type 2) from the San Francisco Mint! These tubes, which contain 20 untouched coins, are sealed with a plastic sleeve taken directly from the sealed monster box, ensuring that you will be the first to open the coin tube.

Initially opened in 1854, the San Francisco Mint has largely contributed to the circulation of present day coins and currency. As the years progressed, the mint began to focus on the production of commemorative coins and silver proof sets, limiting its overall involvement with the top selling United States Silver American Eagle. When the coronavirus pandemic harshly impacted the economy and precious metals industry, the United States’ mints could not keep up with production and distribution of these coins. In order to help satisfy the demands of the coin across the globe, the San Francisco Mint produced a limited number of coins that became highly valuable and coveted due to their very limited mintage. 

The American Silver Eagle's Type 2 design is featured on each coin. For the first time in 35 years, this coin boasts a new reverse design, which sets it apart from prior Silver American Eagles struck since inception. In the original design, a bald eagle is depicted on the iconic Heraldic Eagle shape, with a shield and stripes in front of it. A bald eagle in flight with an oak branch in its talons is depicted in the new design.

Despite the lack of a “S” mintmark on the individual coins, the coins are taken directly from a mint sealed monster box from the San Francisco Mint. The United States Mint has not stated how many coins will be minted at the San Francisco Mint this year, although collectors are aware that it will be substantially less than at West Point.
