The Design

The obverse portrayal showcases Lady Liberty moving forward carrying a torch and an olive branch. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed above her, alongside the Capitol Building and the coin’s year of issue.

The new reverse design, created by Jennie Norris to celebrate the series' 35th anniversary, displays the Eagle with a frontal close-up and a penetrating gaze.

It includes "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the mottos "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "IN GOD WE TRUST," weight, metal content, and face value, which states "1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD—25 DOLLARS."
