Buy 2020 30 Gram Silver Pandas Online
The Silver Panda Coin has been minted and one of the most popular silver bullion products for sale every year since 1989. Panda coins were originally minted in one ounce quantities up until 2016, when the Chinese Mint decided to switch to the metric system by releasing pandas in the weight of 30 grams. The Panda has also always been minted using .999 silver bullion. More mints have been incorporating .9999 silver into their coins, but the Chinese Mint has stuck to .999 for all 32 of their releases.
The 1989 Silver Panda had a maximum mintage of 255,000. Since then, the mintage numbers have fluctuated dramatically however they have risen in recent years. The 2020 Silver Panda will have mintage cap of 10,000,000 coins. Silver Pandas are one of the few silver coins that actually have a mintage cap on them. For example, coins like Eagles and Maple Leafs start their mintage with a technically unlimited amount able to be minted, at their respective mints decide as the year goes on how many coins will actually be produced. For Eagles and Maple Leafs their mintages normally end up somewhere around 20 million each, double the mintage of the 2020 pandas. This limited mintage is why you will see a higher premium on the silver panda compared to other silver coins. However, due to their limit, previous years of pandas have shown premium appreciation much better than Eagles and Maple Leafs for example.
The brand new design for the 2020 Panda’s reverse features a baby panda laying on its back while eating bamboo leaves. There is a bamboo branch above the panda’s head with leaves around it on the ground as well. 2019’s design featuring a mother panda holding her baby, and it seems that baby has become more independent in this 2020 design. The face value of 10 yuan is minted to the panda’s left with the coin’s specifications of “30g Ag .999” are minted above its head. This side of the coin is often thought of as the obverse, but in fact the Panda design has always been the reverse side of the design.
While the Chinese Mint changes the reverse every year, the obverse is the same as all other Chinese Silver and Gold Pandas, with the Temple of Heaven featured in the middle of the design. The temple is considered to be a wonderful example of Chinese architecture. The structure was completed in 1420, however it was not opened to the public until 1918. Surrounding the temple on the reverse is a raised edge with “2020” at the bottom and “China” minted in Chinese characters.
