Another release under the prestigious Somalian Elephant series is now available at SD Bullion. As usual, these 2019 1 oz Somalian Elephant Silver Coins feature a brand-new design on the reverses to mesmerize collectors and investors.
First introduced in 1999, these coins started their journey as Zambian Silver Elephant Coins. However, the Bavarian State Mint struck a deal with Somalia in the year 2004 to continue producing these silver coins, with only the country backing and issuing them changing to Somalia from that year onwards.
Each of these coins contains 1 troy ounce of 0.9999 pure silver. Moreover, they have the official backing of the Somalian Government – attested by the legal tender value of 100 shillings assigned to them.
An elephant is said to represent the collective strength and wisdom of the Somalian people. The designs on the reverses of these coins celebrate this majestic beast with a gorgeous design that captures an elephant's graceful poise as it reaches for leaves high up on a tree with its trunk.
The obverses of these coins display the Somalian Coat of Arms. It consists of two leopards propping up a shield with three of their paws, while balancing themselves on a spear using one paw. The name of the issuing country ‘Somali Republic’ is emblazoned above the Coat of Arms. Furthermore, the year of issue (2019) is split into two parts, with ‘20’ seen to the left of the Somali Coat of Arms and ‘19’ imprinted to its right.
These coins feature annually changing designs, and hence, collectors often rush to collect each design iteration to ensure they have a complete coin collection. Grab these 2019 1 oz Somalian Elephant Silver Coins and complete your sets and add pure silver coins to your tangible assets at the same time.
