The Design
The obverse showcases Susanna Blunt’s official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Besides Her Majesty’s name “ELIZABETH II,” there are engravings in Latin, “D.R. REGINA,” which translates to “By the Grace of God, Queen, and “10 DOLLARS,” referring to the coin’s face value.
The reverse design depicts an Orca Whale diving in clear waters. The background image reflects the seashore, and a small maple leaf on the top right identifies the coin’s origin.
The inscriptions arching over the image refer to the backing nation and year of issuance through “CANADA 2019.”
The coin’s purity level is beneath the whale depiction as “9999.”
And the coin’s information regarding weight and metal content is on the bottom rim in English and French. They read: “FINE SILVER 2 OZ ARGENT PUR.”
