The 2017 1 Kilogram Chinese Silver Panda Proof Coin is one of the finest examples of Chinese craftsmanship. However, their limited mintage of just 20,000 coins ensures that demand from investors and collectors will outstrip supply.
Each of these Chinese Panda Silver Proof Coins is struck using 1 kilogram of 0.999 pure silver. Although they carry a legal tender value of 300 Yuan each, the value is merely symbolic as the value of the silver in these coins outweighs it.
The first Chinese Silver Panda Coin was launched in 1983. Ever since they first came out, the coins have catapulted to being one of the most popular and awaited coin series in the world.
On the obverse, the image from the Temple of Heaven makes its customary appearance. This image focuses on the depiction of the Chinese Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The words ‘People’s Republic of China’ are imprinted in Chinese, while the year of issue ‘2017’ is featured below the image of the prayer hall.
The 2017 Panda design is rendered on the reverses of these proof coins. It depicts a panda sitting near a wooden fence – contemplating a bamboo shoot that it is about to nibble.
